Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #16: Queen
Today’s theme is queen! At first I was going to do something relevant to Queen Frostine from CandyLand, but I scrapped that thought and went with Queen Elizabeth II. I may not live in the UK, but Queen Elizabeth II is adored here in the USA! She’s always dressed to the T, yet her outfits are simple and not “busy”. For some reason I wanted my nails to be purple yet keep it in the “simple” category, so I searched until I found a photo of her in purple/violet. To top it off, I debated between rhinestones and a “jelly sandwich”. Sigh.
*The polish I used has a jelly finish, so for it to be completely opaque would take more than the 3 layers I already have on here. I knew if I did any more layers, it would not be pretty.
And, as always and until further notice, disregard the index nail. It’s still jankity. :(

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #14: Abstract Cosmic Waves
Today’s theme is waves! At first, I was going to build on the Ocean Twist nails I did back in 2012. But I knew deep down inside, I didn’t want to take the easy way out. Time to think of something new! So I came up with this abstract design that sort of reminded me of cosmic waves. These are the times when I love neon polishes more than I already do!

Daily/Weeky Nail Challenge #12: Dripping in Gold
Today’s challenge is GLITTERY! My all-time favorite nail accessory being put to good use… Someone hold me back.
I was inspired by one of my most-listened-to dubstep remixes, the Adventure Club version of Flight Facilities’ Crave You. Just to be off-topic, I’m not completely into dubstep music, but I’ve been in love with this song since sometime last year. It was part of this playlist that I listen to on 8tracks (click here!).

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #11: Greek!
Today’s challenge has a Greek theme, and I wanted to do something different than the Grecian Dress design that I did a while back. One of my favorite patterns is the Greek fret/key pattern, so I decided to alter it a little bit and use it for this challenge!

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #10: Zebra Print
I never thought we’d end up doing a common design! I haven’t done zebra print in a very long time, so it was the perfect opportunity to get some practice in. This was also my first try using The Best Glue Ever with my nail foil! This stuff is AMAZING.

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #9: Fashionably Balanced
Today’s theme is tightrope walking! Watching people do this act is really cool. I mean, I did gymnastics among other things, but this takes more balance than I have inside my body. So I decided to paint heels on a high wire.
When I was painting this, it reminded me of an episode of The Office. If you know which one I’m talking about, you’re great.

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #8: Television Static
Today’s challenge is television! I found it to be a pretty broad theme and was stuck on what to do. After planning and drawing things for much too long, I changed my mind completely and settled on doing television static, a.k.a. noise, snow, fuzzies, etc. I saw Sarah of Chalkboard nails do something similar (and better) with black and white glitter on alternating backgrounds and thought the idea was cool. Unfortunately, my white glitter is pretty translucent, so when it hits the polish, it practically disappears. I just stuck with black glitter on a white background. And it was the perfect opportunity to use my new matte top coat to make the “noise” look more realistic as opposed to glossy. :)

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #7: John A. Roebling Bridge
Today’s challenge is a bridge theme. I decided to do the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge that spans the Ohio river and connects Convington, Kentucky to my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The bridge has a lot of history behind it (one fact is it was pretty much the “test-bridge”/gineau pig of what is now the Brooklyn Bridge) . It’s also very beautiful in person!

(Wikipedia)
This was probably one of my more frustrating nail designs (if you couldn’t tell). I’m bummed that I couldn’t get a good picture, but I guess this will suffice. :)

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #6: Zimmerman’s Poison Frog
In my opinion, poison dart frogs are the coolest amphibians around. Why? Because they have the most beautiful warning colors! I, previously, have done a design based off of the Blue Poison Dart Frog (click here to see!). Aside from that one, the Zimmerman’s Poison (Dart) Frog is my other favorite, so I had to use it as inspiration! They’re truly beautiful creatures :)

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #5: Caribbean Sunset
Today’s theme is sunset, so I wanted to do more of a cool-toned image. I love seeing pictures of Caribbean sunsets and I haven’t done anything with birds or glitter gradients in a long time!
I also needed an excuse to use some of my new glitter :)
