Remember those neon glitters I bought a few months ago? Here they are under the black light in the light box! It’s hard to capture the glow with a camera, but it’s so cool!

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #13: Cat of Approximate Knowledge
Today’s challenge was Adventure Time! This cartoon is hilarious, especially when you catch all the jokes that children typically would not catch. Today, I wanted to do something that didn’t require detailing and was very simple, so I did a jelly sandwich of glitters.
My favorite character in this show is a villain: Cat of Approximate Knowledge a.k.a. Demon Cat. Although he’s an antagonist and has only made one appearance, I adore him. His attitude and sense of humor matches mine in similar ways (besides the whole slaying/dismembering thing).

Daily/Weeky Nail Challenge #12: Dripping in Gold

Today’s challenge is GLITTERY! My all-time favorite nail accessory being put to good use… Someone hold me back.

I was inspired by one of my most-listened-to dubstep remixes, the Adventure Club version of Flight Facilities’ Crave You. Just to be off-topic, I’m not completely into dubstep music, but I’ve been in love with this song since sometime last year. It was part of this playlist that I listen to on 8tracks (click here!).

“I walked into the room dripping in gold…”

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #11: Greek!
Today’s challenge has a Greek theme, and I wanted to do something different than the Grecian Dress design that I did a while back. One of my favorite patterns is the Greek fret/key pattern, so I decided to alter it a little bit and use it for this challenge!

We finally got some sunlight here in this part of Ohio, so I wanted to see how the neon glitter would look in the rays. Seriously, my camera can’t capture the neon-ness. SO AWESOME.

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #5: Caribbean Sunset

Today’s theme is sunset, so I wanted to do more of a cool-toned image. I love seeing pictures of Caribbean sunsets and I haven’t done anything with birds or glitter gradients in a long time!

I also needed an excuse to use some of my new glitter :)

Any ideas for glitter mixes!?

This is the pack of neon glitter that I bought on New Year’s Eve at Hobby Lobby! If you’re looking for it in the store, the brand is Tree House Studio.
It all came in one package, with a total of 42 grams of glitter (7 grams of each color). Each jar has a screw off lid that covers a shaker top for easy sprinkling. Although, it’s pretty easy to pop off the shaker piece if you want easier access to the glitter.
The colors don’t have individual names, but to summarize, they are all extra fine, neon (my camera just can’t capture it’s true beauty), and very bright with a greenish-blue iridescent shine (the package says it’s “holographic” but I don’t see that at all) that isn’t overwhelming. The best part about them is that they don’t bleed in polish, so it’s safe for making frankens if you wish!
*Although it’s 100% polyester, it’s not labeled as cosmetic grade. It’s still considered craft glitter, so I would not recommend putting this around your eyes. I’ve Google’d about polyester glitter being safe for eyes, and I’ve found mixed results… Do so at your own risk!
At Hobby Lobby, the price is $5.99, but I bought it when basic craft supplies were 25% off. So I only paid $4.49! Hobby Lobby is usually great when it comes to sales and coupons, so use that to your advantage.
I’m so glad I ran across it and bought it. I think it’ll make my glitter mixes a little more exciting :)
