Just a simple and bright, wavy grid look!
Trying my hand at plastic/Saran wrap nails!
Neon geometric nail design with holographic glitter!
Fan-brush technique, inspired by a pair of heels I saw at Target!
Remember those neon glitters I bought a few months ago? Here they are under the black light in the light box! It’s hard to capture the glow with a camera, but it’s so cool!
Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #15: Cation Flame Test
This nail challenge’s theme was flame/fire! I’ve been in a rainbow/bright/colorful mood lately, so I felt obligated to do the cation flame test! If you don’t know what it is, I don’t want to waste your time because all it’ll look like on here is, “Science science science blah blah science science I just want to look at nail art please stop now science.” So just go to your favorite search engine and look up “cation flame test”.
The three cations I have here are potassium, barium, and zinc (from left to right).

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #14: Abstract Cosmic Waves
Today’s theme is waves! At first, I was going to build on the Ocean Twist nails I did back in 2012. But I knew deep down inside, I didn’t want to take the easy way out. Time to think of something new! So I came up with this abstract design that sort of reminded me of cosmic waves. These are the times when I love neon polishes more than I already do!

Daily/Weekly Nail Challenge #6: Zimmerman’s Poison Frog
In my opinion, poison dart frogs are the coolest amphibians around. Why? Because they have the most beautiful warning colors! I, previously, have done a design based off of the Blue Poison Dart Frog (click here to see!). Aside from that one, the Zimmerman’s Poison (Dart) Frog is my other favorite, so I had to use it as inspiration! They’re truly beautiful creatures :)

This is the pack of neon glitter that I bought on New Year’s Eve at Hobby Lobby! If you’re looking for it in the store, the brand is Tree House Studio.
It all came in one package, with a total of 42 grams of glitter (7 grams of each color). Each jar has a screw off lid that covers a shaker top for easy sprinkling. Although, it’s pretty easy to pop off the shaker piece if you want easier access to the glitter.
The colors don’t have individual names, but to summarize, they are all extra fine, neon (my camera just can’t capture it’s true beauty), and very bright with a greenish-blue iridescent shine (the package says it’s “holographic” but I don’t see that at all) that isn’t overwhelming. The best part about them is that they don’t bleed in polish, so it’s safe for making frankens if you wish!
*Although it’s 100% polyester, it’s not labeled as cosmetic grade. It’s still considered craft glitter, so I would not recommend putting this around your eyes. I’ve Google’d about polyester glitter being safe for eyes, and I’ve found mixed results… Do so at your own risk!
At Hobby Lobby, the price is $5.99, but I bought it when basic craft supplies were 25% off. So I only paid $4.49! Hobby Lobby is usually great when it comes to sales and coupons, so use that to your advantage.
I’m so glad I ran across it and bought it. I think it’ll make my glitter mixes a little more exciting :)
Here is the assortment of flocking powder I bought from Michael’s a few weeks ago! This is the six-pack made by Recollections. They may look bright on-screen, but they are super vibrant in person! My camera does not do them any justice.
From L to R: Beet, Hot Pink, Carrot, Goldenrod, Lime, and Calypso.
Each one comes in a tube holding .34 oz. of product (which is a LOT). The flocking powder looks chunky in the tube, but it’s great quality and very fine. Believe me, it’s JAM-PACKED in there and filled all the way to the top of the container.
I purchased this set at 50% off. The ticketed price is a little over $6, but I was able to get it for three dollars and some change.
Cannot wait to do some cool things with these!
